We could never neglect to mention the DofE society socials! We'll do our best to have the pleasure of running as many socials as we can in person with social distancing, making them no less epic and unforgettable than before. We've got all sorts of fun events like movie nights, going to the pub quiz, game nights (with our own customised DofE Top Trumps!), night hikes and of course drinking socials like (virtual) circling! Even with current restrictions, we want to do our best to bring you amazing DofE socials online - check out our social calendar below to see what we've got in store for you this term!

They're free for anyone to come along to so please try 'em out, bring your friends along too and you certainly won't regret it!

Coming Up!

Games NightOnline Games Night - Thursday 8th October, 7pm, location tbc

Whether you're new to the society or you're a returning old-timer at Warwick, welcome to our first social of the year! Join us for a games night through video call, where we'll play a wide variety of online party-type games! You can dip in and out of the call whenever you like, so feel free to drop by whenever! If this sounds like your cup of tea then make sure to mash that 'Interested' button on our Facebook event (linked above)! We'll put more info up on the event in the next few days, so keep an eye out! And any suggestions of online games to play will be most welcome in the 'Discussion' section of the event!

Kenilworth Night Hike - Wednesday 14th October, 6pm, location tbc

We're running our first night hike of the year: our classic walk to Kenilworth! Of course, current restrictions mean we won't be able to run this as a big group event, so we'll be releasing details of the route so you can give it a go with your friends and flatmates (please do feel free to send us photos/a recap of your experience to keep the DofE social spirit alive, though! We'd love to see how you get on!) For those of you who want help with navigation or have any questions about the society, or who just want a chat, we'll be running a few exec-led groups on the Wednesday night - if you might be interested, keep an eye on the Facebook event for more details!

Training Session: Map Skills and Expedition Safety - Wednesday 21st October, 6:30pm, Microsoft Teams

For those of you thinking of doing your award with us... please come to our first training session of the year! The session will focus on maps and expedition safety, allowing you to learn the key skills required to safely navigate on trips - including your Gold expedition! This session will cover essential parts of the Gold Award training framework and is compulsory for all Award participants, but is suitable for everyone. (If you can't make it, don't worry - just let us know you want to do your Award with us and we'll run a catch-up session later in the year!)
