About James

1. How long have you been doing your sport?

I have been running for about 11 years now; my first race being a school Sports Day.

2. What drew you to the sport?

I have always participated in various sports. Throughout my time at school I represented my school in lots of sports; rugby, football, basketball, cricket, tennis, hockey and athletics. Early on, a school teacher identified and believed that I showed a natural ability at running and as the years have progressed, athletics/cross-country have started to dominate, as I began to achieve the greatest success with this sport. It was this success, along with the ability to challenge and push myself physically that drew me more to athletics than any of the other sports I was involved in. I now focus on the 800m/1500m middle distance events.

3. What does Team Warwick mean to you?

To be chosen for any team is always an honour. To be part of Team Warwick knowing that you have been chosen from a huge number of competitive individuals and potential athletes to represent your university and compete on a national stage amongst the university population brings with it a feeling of great pride.

4. How are you enjoying being part of Team Warwick?

I appreciate the fact that Warwick Sport recognise and value the commitment and discipline of training and competing at a high level whilst studying at university. They understand the rigours required and I have experienced at first hand their willingness to support their athletes.
