ESRC Festival of Social Science - Take Part

Saturday 22nd October to Sunday 13th November 2022

The call for public engagement event expressions of interest is open for the Economic and Social Research Council’s Festival of Social Science Link 2022.Link opens in a new window

This internally funded opportunity is open to all Warwick researchers based in the UK, not just social scientists or those funded by ESRC, and may involve outside partners. However, the planned event/activity must feature Warwick social science research in some way.

The Festival

This year the UK-wide Festival will run From Saturday 22nd October to Sunday 13th November 2022.

It is a chance for anyone from a wide range of disciplines to demonstrate some of the country’s leading social science research and how it impacts and influences our social, economic and political lives.

Events can include public debate, workshops, interactive exhibitions, ideas cafés, film screenings and discussions. The main criterion is that your engaged audience is a public one, a non-academic audience, which could be young people, schools, charities, business or government.

Visit the Festival websiteLink opens in a new window to see the variety of activities that were run last year. You can also catch up on the events from Warwick on the WIE website.

This year the Festival’s key theme is ‘My Local Area’ and engagements that fit with the theme will be looked upon favourably, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply if your activity won’t fit with the theme, we need some to fit, not all!

Your event

You can propose an online or in-person event, thirty minutes or a whole day, group delivery or just yourself, whatever suits you and your topic.
