Our 50th anniversary events are grouped into five categories:
Showcase
Festival of the Imagination: A two-day event taking place on 16 and 17 October 2015 on campus, the Festival of the Imagination will feature an interactive research zone, talks and debates, taster classes, street performance, a food market, cooking demonstrations and more. The Warwick Festival of Music: A three-day music festival featuring world, classical and popular music. Staff Summer Fair: Alongside this annual event, we will invite former and retired staff and incorporate a thank you event. Imagining the Future Lecture Series: In celebration of the 50th anniversary, the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series will host a number of Imagining the Future talks, bringing high profile speakers from the worlds of academia, business, the arts and civil society to the campus to share their thoughts and ideas. IMAGINING A UNIVERSITY: The University of Warwick Art Collection at 50: The fiftieth anniversary of the University of Warwick also marks the fiftieth anniversary of its Art Collection. This exhibition examines how the forces that shaped the University also influenced the development of the Collection. |

Legacy
New chamber music piece: Joe Cutler, the composer of Ping!, will write a new chamber music piece based on Imagining the Future and inspired by a short residency working with Warwick researchers and students. The piece will be premiered by the Coull Quartet. Jam Grove: To be opened on campus in 2015, a grove of fruiting bushes and trees that presents a new garden space at Westwood for staff and students where they can relax and pick fruit. Pictorial history: We're encouraging staff and students, past and present, to share images of campus life and help us to create an online pictorial history of the last 50 years. Find out more >> |
