Endoscope

Endoscopes are lighted optical instruments that allow medical staff to look deep inside human bodies for the purpose of examining organs. Specialized endoscopes are named for the part of the body they are intended to reveal. Examples include: cystoscope (bladder), nephroscope (kidney), bronchoscope (bronchi), laryngoscope (larynx), otoscope (ear), arthroscope (joint), laparoscope (abdomen), and gastrointestinal endoscopes. This endoscope was made by the Genito-Urinary Manufacturing Co., England, and was used to examine the urinary tract.
