Fay Weldon is a writer who has published numerous novels, collections of short stories, children's books, non-fiction books, magazine articles and plays written for radio, television and the stage. She was shortlisted for the Booker Prize for Praxis, won the Macmillan Silver Pen Award for Wicked Women, and was awarded the CBE in 2001. She is also well known for her cultural interventions on subjects including feminism, therapy, the gender switch and parenthood.
