MINRESCUE workshop held by SUBTERRA at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
SUBTERRA, on behalf of MINRESCUE consortium, has successfully organised an industry-orientated workshop at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid on 29/09/2022. Dr Rezania from Warwick University atttended the workshop in person and 5 other Warwick researchers attended virtually. A presentation entitled "CMWGs as raw materials for geotechnical and foam concrete applications: a laboratory investigation and constitutive modelling" was jointly delivered by Dr Rezania, Dr Vo and Dr Farahani, disseminating major results obtained by the team at Warwick University to date. The presentation highlighted properties of Coal Mining Waste Geomaterials (CMWGs) across different length and time scales (spoil heap, coal waste aggregate, pore space and mineralogical compositions), and stages of utilisations (CMWGs themselves, CMWGs cemented for geotechnical and mining applications, and CMWGs processed further into construction applications).
The workshop was delivered in-person and in virtual modes with audiences (across both industry and academia) participating from all over the world. The workshop was followed by the 7th progress meeting held by partners to discuss the MINRESCUE's 2023 Deliverables and Symposium.
