Dr Robert Froud from Queen Mary, University of London, was awarded an Arthritis Research UK grant to carry out a sub study linked to IMPACT-LBP.

The sub study- Exploring Perceptions of Important Change (EPIC) - main objective is to investigate experiences of the treatment provided to low back pain patients, their perceived outcomes and the relevance of measures used in the IMPACT-LBP study.

This information will be collected by interviewing participants who have reached their 3months follow-up time point.

20/09/2011

Ethical approval was granted to change the study design from individually randomising patitnes into the study, to cluster randomisation of participants by physiotherapists within the single pilot site. Sample size has been adjusted for this.
