*Scenario:* Went to see a participant today & he really isn’t suitable for
OEP – he fell asleep during the warm up!! BUT he’s just so lovely & his wife
is desperate. He’s got Parkinsons (just got to the point where the meds
aren’t really working any more), frozen shoulder, gout in both feet, severe
OA knees and hands (to the point where he cant put any pressure on them).
I’ve given him the warm up and 2 strength exercises but what do you want me
to do?
Am happy to continue if you think its appropriate.
*Response:*
If you feel comfortable about keeping going, it sounds as if the
participant and his wife are keen for some input as well.
The warm up & some strength may help – we suggest you have a go at keeping
him on, but if at follow-up, it doesn't seem to be working, then withdraw
him & refer to GP.
He is obviously on the GPs radar anyway if on various meds etc.
