ePortfolio Day Resources
A Dentistry ePortfolio information day was held on 31st July 2015, which covered the following:
Learning Outcomes:
- Have developed a basic understanding of dentistry courses in the wider professional evolution.
- Be aware of the current Warwick Medical School dental team and their areas of responsibility.
- Understand the role of the supervising dentist, how to obtain feedback and how such feedback should be used to aid development.
- Understand the role of the student senior tutor and the processes and conditions for applying for extensions to assessed work submission, submitting mitigation and applying for temporary withdrawal.
- Understand the assessment process for the Clinical Practice module.
- Understand how to access and use the e-portfolio for the Clinical Practice module including log-in, navigation around the e-portfolio, uploading of text and image related information, submission of cases for appraisal and marking.
- Have an understanding of the Medico-legal issues pertaining to e-portfolio use, including issues of patient consent.
- Have a detailed understanding of the requirements in relation to records and record keeping within the e-portfolios.
- Understand how to produce high quality clinical photographs including how to work with the patient and equipment needed to enable clear visualization along with photographic techniques to enhance clarity and how to produce quality photographs of radiographic images.
- Have a clear understanding of how best to present case portfolios.
