Format: Single workshop

Suitable for: Year 9 / 10, Key Stage 3 / 4 Minimum 20 - Maximum 40

Availability: Academic Year 22/23

Aims and description :

The workshop will focus on movement towards a more sustainable way of living, away from the use/dispose world we live in. The circular economy gives us the tools to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution, while delivering better outcomes for business, people and the environment. We will review the three pillars listed below:

  • Eliminate waste and pollution
  • Circulate waste and materials
  • Regenerate nature

These key fundamentals will be learned through interactive teaching and exploring an educational computer game Cities Skylines where pupils will be challenged to build a virtual city with particular awareness of transportation, making decisions following the above principles. Other activities will also be available.
