Teaching Reading Comprehension to Autistic Students

Do you teach reading comprehension to autistic students aged between 4 and 19 years old? Could you tell us about your experiences of teaching reading comprehension and about the types of programmes and strategies you use?
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for qualified teachers and/or literacy leads who directly teach reading comprehension to autistic students in special schools to take part in a brief online survey.
Why are we completing this research?
Researchers at the University of Warwick are investigating current reading comprehension practices used in special schools across the UK. We are interested in exploring what works well and what barriers teachers face when teaching reading comprehension to autistic students.
What do you need to do?
Our online survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary and data are collected anonymously. Please click the link at the top for the participant information leaflet to learn more about the study.

This research is being conducted by Olivia Kurzeja (PhD Student) under the supervision of Dr Corinna Grindle, Dr Samantha Flynn and Professor Richard Hastings. Please contact the researchers by emailing: olivia.kurzeja@warwick.ac.uk
