APMOD Conference 2014
International Conference on Applied Mathematical Optimization and Modelling, 9-11 April 2014
Welcome to the APMOD Conference 2014!
APMOD 2014 is the eleventh conference in the series of successful events covering mathematical optimization and modeling, theory as well as applications.
Contributions from modeling, solving methods and software as well as applications of optimization are very welcome. Relevant application areas include, but are not restricted to finance, transportation, supply chain planning and management, revenue management, energy and infrastructure. The models may be deterministic or stochastic, and aspects considering robustness or disruption management are very welcome. The methodological focus of the previous conferences has been on mathematical programming including stochastic programming, and more recently also heuristics, metaheuristics and simulation.
Our conference dinner will take place on Thursday 10 April in St Mary's Guildhall in Coventry. This historic building was first constructed around 1340 served as the combined headquarters of the united guilds of the Holy Trinity, St. Mary, St. John the Baptist and St. Katherine.
On Friday 11 April, we offer a trip to Warwick Castle in the afternoon. This medieval castle was original built by William the Conqueror in 1068. During the Hundred Years War, the facade opposite the town was refortified, resulting in one of the most recognisable examples of 14th century military architecture. It was used as a stronghold until the early 17th century.
