WBS Study Abroad 2024/25 Expression of Interest Form

Students preparing for a Placement Year 2024/25 can apply to undertake a study abroad exchange for either a full academic year or one semester, combined with a semester work placement. If you wish to be considered for a study abroad placement, please submit this Expression of Interest form by Friday 8th December 2023.

The Undergraduate International & Placements team will be in touch at the start of Term 2 to share the list of available partner universities and provide further instructions on the next stage of the application process. Please note that a study abroad placement is not guaranteed as part of a Placement Year due to limited availability of placements.

If you intend to work for the full academic year or undertake a UPP work placement, you do not need to complete this form.

If you have any questions regarding your Placement Year or study abroad opportunities, please email the UG International & Placements team (undergraduate@wbs.ac.uk) or request a virtual appointment with us here.

Study Abroad Eligibility Criteria
In order to be considered for a study abroad placement, you must have a first-year average of at least 60% and have achieved a pass in all your first-year modules (40% or above).

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria above, unfortunately we are not able to consider a study abroad application for your Placement Year. You would still be eligible to undertake a full-year work placement or UPP placement.

Important note: you are not able to apply for a study abroad placement in a country where you hold nationality. Our agreements with partner universities are based on the understanding that students admitted to their exchange programme are international participants.

If you are currently on the 3-year BSc Management or BSc Accounting & Finance degree and definitely wish to convert your degree to the 4-year 'with Placement Year' variant, please also submit a 'Course Transfer Application - Year Away Form' in addition to this Expression of Interest Form. The Undergraduate Office will then be in touch with further information. If you would prefer to see the list of available study abroad partners before committing to a course transfer, please only complete the Expression of Interest Form at this stage. If allocated to a study abroad placement we can then guide you through the course transfer process. If you no longer wish to apply for a study abroad opportunity after seeing the partner university list, you can simply ask to withdraw your expression of interest and you will remain on your current 3-year degree.
