Riverside - Winter by Allin Braund
|
The sea and water are constant themes in Allin Braund's work and this is one of two such prints in the collection. Lithography is well suited to a style of printmaking that has a sense of drawing. This work is very typical of the period and, in particular, of artists such as Edward Middleditch who used paint as if it was an implement of drawing. The forms are described with strong lines that together make a pattern across the surface of the picture.
