Surf Against Rocks by Allin Braund

Surf Against Rocks by Allin Braund

Many of Braund's works have been inspired by the sea and seascape. In 1958 the St. George's Gallery published a suite of his prints on a maritime theme. The sea has served as inspiration for many artists and composers. In the 20th century artists such as Peter Lanyon and Bryan Wynter were influenced by the Cornish coastline. In Braund's print the forms of waves and rocks are stylised and geometric, hovering between representation and abstraction.
