Snow Scene by Creasy

Through sensitive observation and a lively drawing technique, the artist has turned a dull winter's day into an evocative and atmospheric image. The technique chosen for this was lithography, a process in which the picture is drawn directly onto a stone printing plate using a greasy chalk. The plate is then wet with water. The greasy areas are receptive to the printing ink while the wet areas repel it. The effect of this process is that the print maintains the quality of a single drawing although, as in this edition, many may be produced.
