During her career Frink completed a number of portrait commissions including that of the composer Sir William Walton and actor Sir Alec Guiness. In 1985 the University approached her to commission a portrait of Lord Butterworth, the first Vice-Chancellor. This work is a formal portrait which concentrates on the likeness of the sitter.
