Fireworks is taken from a series of works called Nordic Signs. The book was a collaboration with the poet Cia Rinne whom he later married. The images were taken in Norway, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and the Faroe Islands and explored the relationship between the land and the people who inhabit it, focusing in particular on those places where conditions are less hospitable.
