Metamorphic Rocks, Tintagel by Ray Pearce
|
Ray Pearce's image of geometric forms makes use of a limited number of colours in bold blocks. This image, inspired by the landscape of Cornwall is a study which shows the strata of the rocks. Since the beginning of the century numerous artists have been attracted to live and work in Cornwall. St. Ives became a centre for the British avant-garde in the 1930s, with artists favouring Cornwall because of the beautiful landscape and the natural light.
