Light of the World by Robyn Denny
|
From the Light of the World Suite A-J, a set of ten screenprints, whose title harks back to the Pre-Raphaelite painting by Holman Hunt which hangs in St Paul's Cathedral.
These screenprints relate directly to several large oil paintings Denny exhibited in his retrospective exhibition at the Tate Gallery in 1973 in which interlocking, coloured forms float against a large expanse of monochrome pigment, implying a 'step' into imaginary space.
