In her free flowing and colourful paintings Morton creates what she calls a “narrative of sensations”; in 'Mountain' the essence of a physical space is created using veils of colour to suggest a sensation of space and depth. She does not regard her paintings as purely abstract since they contain figurative elements through which she seeks to “bring to the forefront some aspect of what’s going on around me”.
