Alternative file formats
You can download files from Moodle in a variety of alternative formats, wherever you see the
alternative formats icon.
This capability is brought to you by a digital accessibility tool called Blackboard Ally.
How can alternative formats help me?
Alternative formats let you take control of your learning by offering you flexibility, choice, and a more personalised user experience.
They also help to build a more inclusive digital learning environment for all students at Warwick, regardless of ability or disability.

Which alternative file formats are available?
Depending on the original file format, Ally can generate the following alternatives:
-
OCR’d version (for scanned documents)
- Tagged PDF (currently for Word, PowerPoint and OpenOffice/LibreOffice files)
- Mobile-friendly HTML
- Audio
- ePub
- Electronic Braille
- BeeLine Reader
- Translated Version
If you need help identifying which alternative formats might be right for you, see Ally's guidance on alternative formats.
