The Home Office have announced some implementation dates for upcoming changes to the immigration rules

Below are some of the key dates announced by the Home Office:

6 February 2024

Immigration Health Surcharge will increase.

  • Students and their dependents and youth mobility workers:
    • From £470.00 to £776.00 per year
  • All other visa applications
    • From £624.00 to £1035.00 per year

 11 March 2024

Care workers and senior care workers will no longer be able to bring dependants. This change will not affect carers already in the UK on Health Care Worker visa.

14 March 2024

Immigration Rules is due to be laid to remove the current 20% going rate discount for jobs in the Shortage Occupations List. Also, expect the publication of the new ‘Immigration Salary List’, the date of this new list is yet to be confirmed, indication that it will be early April.

4 April 2024

Increase in the minimum salary required for those applying for a Skilled Worker visa. This will increase from £26,200 to £38,700. Skilled Worker applications made before this date will continue to be considered against the current minimum thresholds. Salary discount for those towards the start of their careers (including Student Visa and Graduate Visa holders) are expected to remain.

11 April 2024

Minimum income requirement to sponsor someone for a family visa will initially increase to £29,000. This is set to increase further in stages over the next year, reaching to £38,700 by early 2025.
