Our research and impact focused on making the world a better place, and our Research Celebration event on Monday 7 April centred around how our ongoing research had supported the UK Government’s five key missions:

• Kickstart economic growth – Advanced productivity, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.

• Make Britain a clean energy superpower – Innovated in green technologies to cut costs and accelerate net zero.

• Take back our streets – Supported efforts to reduce crime and strengthen public trust.

• Break down barriers to opportunity – Shaped education and social policies for equal access to opportunity.

• Build an NHS fit for the future – Improved healthcare outcomes and ensured a healthier future for all.

The programme featured presentations and videos from across our three Faculties—Arts; Science, Engineering & Medicine; and Social Sciences—including some of our cross-disciplinary programmes. It also included a panel discussion on future challenges and opportunities, and awards specifically recognised colleagues who had excelled in different aspects of research.
