Words for Wellbeing
The second edition of Warwick Words 4 Wellbeing took place on 19th June 2025.
Students, staff, poets and writers attended the community-wide pop-up event to explore the transformative power of words and creativity to nurture open conversations and foster a culture valuing creativity and wellbeing. In today's fast-paced and interconnected world, the need for good mental health and emotional wellbeing has never been more pressing.
Guests were able to engage with our Collective Creative Charter, surprise themselves with Blackout Poetry and get reflective with Test tube Telegrams. There were also wonderfully crafted mindfulness sessions led by Dean Howes from the Centre for Lifelong Learning, and the opportunity to chat with Menopause and Nutrition advisors.
WHY NOW?
In today's fast-paced and interconnected world, the need for mental health and emotional well-being has never been more pressing. By encouraging open, inclusive conversations and creating an integrated environment centred around lived experiences, we aim to break down barriers and cultivate a research culture that values creativity, empathy, and collaboration.
In line with the University's Sustainability Strategy, this project strongly aligns with UN SGD 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, through its focus on promoting mental health and wellbeing.
