   Lisa Downing - http://www.lisadowning.co.uk/ would be a totally awesome person to have come and speak, or give a workshop or something. Totally right up our alley. Also she teaches at Birmingham (although lives in London, from what I understand) so not a great distance to travel...

   yey! She looks ace and totally right for the project.... I have an additional suggestion, http://alisonjcarr.net/ - I only know her through twitter, but it sounds like she does some pretty interesting stuff. As well as giving papers on her subject, she gives performances too I believe. Her PhD is on fine art and it's practise-lead/based. And she interviews show-girls. She sprang to mind as soon as we started talking about events, workshops etc....
