Ecopoetics at Warwick

Beyond nature writing, ecopoetics ranges from the making and study of pastoral and wilderness poetry to the intersection of poetry and animal studies, or from the poetics of urban environments to poets' responses to disasters and matters of environmental justice.

New publication

Emma Mason's Christina Rossetti: Poetry, Ecology, Faith is now available from Oxford University Press, 2018.

Peter Larkin

A symposium on Peter Larkin's poetry took place on April 26, 2018 alongside the exhibition, 'Inscriptions: Image | Text | Sound' from April 20-May 2 that situtates Larkin's work in relation to the composer Howard Skempton and visual artist Simon Lewty. Published proceedings will follow in The Journal of British and Irish Innovative Poetry.

Elizabeth Jennings

A symposium marking the 90th anniversary of Elizabeth Jennings' birth, and funded by the British Academy and Leverhulme Trust, was held on her work on October 29, 2016, St Anne's, Oxford. A Jennings literary society is planned following the success of the event.

Poetry and Philosophy Workshop

With the support of the Institute of Advanced Study and the Humanities Research Centre at Warwick, the Centre for Philosophy, Literature, and the Arts will hold a one-day workshop on Poetry and Philosophy on June 11. They have in view a longer-term goal of forming a research and creative network that will bring together poets, philosophers and literary theorists and scholars. The workshop is a conversation-opener. For more information, please contact Eileen John.

Wordsworth reading group

The Wordsworth Reading Group will hold four meetings in term 3, (7, 13, 20 June; 2 July). At these meetings we will read and discuss Wordsworth's poems "The Ruined Cottage" and The Prelude (1805 version), along with some supplementary texts. More information here.

Bloomsbury Studies in Critical Poetics

Bloomsbury Studies in Critical Poetics, which seeks to publish the best contemporary scholarship on poetry from across the world, is edited by Professor Dan Katz. More details on the series website.

eLyra: Revista da Rede Internacional Lyracompoetics

Established by Professor Paulo de Medeiros (University of Warwick) and Professor Rosa Maria Martelo (University of Porto) as a space for the discussion and interrogation of comparative modern and contemporary poetry, eLyra is published by the international research network LyraCompoetics.
