Mark, father of one (born 1988), hometown Stourbridge

My daughter was 7 weeks premature when my partner suffered sudden blood loss at home. The umbilical cord had detached it later transpired. She was rushed to hospital with me accompanying her in the ambulance. Once in she was immediately taken into theatre and I was shown to a waiting room and left. Some considerable time later I was shown into the special care baby unit where my daughter was in an incubator. My partner was recovering in the nearby ward. It always rankled that I was never offered the opportunity to be there in theatre at the birth.
