Difficult to write, but factually very fresh in my memory. Whilst well briefed, and latterly more experienced, I was a little unsure what to do and seemed to have been confined to "technical" tasks such as running the tens machine, holding hands, providing "encouragement", providing refreshments etc. After the birth I held all three babies for a substantial period whilst the midwives attended to my wife - magic ! Afterwards as "dad" I tended to fade into the background.... Could probably go on and add detail!
