Susan Bassnett is Professor of Comparative Literary Studies and founder of the Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Warwick. She has written books on a wide range of subjects including translation studies, contemporary theatre, feminist thought, Shakespeare and South American women writers. She also writes regularly for the Independent and the Guardian.
