Download MP3

A reading hosted by North and South publisher, at the October Gallery, London, celebrating publications by each of the readers. The evening is introduced by Peterjon Skelt, editor at North and South.

The first reader is Lee Harwood. He reads from Rope Boy to the Rescue (North and South, 1988) and seven new pieces. Some are early drafts of poems that would appear in In the mists : mountain poems (Slow Dancer, 1993) Morning Light (Slow Dancer, 1998), and some unpublished pieces.

Elaine Randell starts with pieces from Gut Reaction (North and South, 1987), then reads new poems, including a selection of her contributions to a collaboration with Chris Torrance. She is joined by Harwood and Walsh for a performance of ‘Matrimonial.’

Catherine Walsh reads poems from Making Tents (hardPressed, 1987). Some have titles, many are very short, untitled parts of sequences. One is a sequence written in Barcelona, with Spanish parts. Two poems are performed with Walsh's co-editor at hardPressed, Billy Mills.
