George Szirtes
George Szirtes was born in Hungary and came to England after the Hungarian uprising in 1956. He trained as a painter and is the author of several collections of poetry, as well as translations, plays and musicals. He teaches Creative Writing at the Norwich School of Art and Design and the University of East Anglia and he was awarded the 2004 T S Eliot Prize for his poetry collection Reel.
