Overview of Theme

The theme of Resources and Culture highlights some additional factors such as family and grandparents influences, advice from elders, story telling, nutritional awareness from learning from others in culture, online and traditional recipes passed down.

She carefully selects nutritious ingredients such as tomatoes, mushrooms, and tofu, blending traditional dietary habits with modern nutritional knowledge. The grandmother prefers buying fresh vegetables from local markets and uses her medical expertise to create balanced meals.
The parent shared, ‘Grandma prioritizes nutrition when cooking; she ensures that fish, meat, eggs, and milk are included daily, with meals rotated to maintain variety.’ Through these efforts, the family seamlessly combines science and tradition, offering a healthy and delicious dining experience for the child.

The parent also notes, ‘We adjust meals to suit the child’s taste, as he particularly enjoys sour flavours, so we prepare more of those.’

Additionally, she prioritizes fresh ingredients and reduces the use of processed foods by preparing homemade rice balls and steamed cakes. She explains, ‘I try to buy fresh foods and make shapes that the kids like, such as colourful steamed cakes and rice balls.’ Through these efforts, she aims to improve the family’s dietary health while offering diverse food choices for her child.

北方饮食文化的家庭传承
