The academy is designed to foster a national community of researchers and provides a basic training in HPC methods to students just beginning their Ph.D. or other research degree, though we also welcome more mature researchers from any relevant background. The course will cover Basic HPC tools, Programming, Performance Programming, Parallel Architectures, Shared Memory Parallelism, Message Passing Parallelism and Practical Parallel Programming.
It is our continuing aim to provide the best and most relevant training to new researchers and so this year we have a slightly redesigned structure which offers practical sessions focussing on three alternative themes: Computational Fluid Dynamics, Atomistic and Molecular Modelling and Machine Learning.

The Academy has a teaching staff of nine senior academics who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the courses and reflect the breadth of scientific research using HPC as an everyday tool. Please see the course leaders page for more details.

Applying for places:
There will be some bursaries which will be awarded, students who wish to be considered for a bursary should apply before Tuesday 3rd July 2016; if your Ph.D place has not been confirmed by 3rd July, we suggest you still apply by this date and include a comment with your application. Applications received after this date will be considered only if places and funding is still available.
If you require College accommodation you need to apply before Sunday 14th August 2016; accommodation might still be available after this date, but cannot be guaranteed.
Announcements of grant decision will be made by Saturday 30th July 2016.
Applications for a place on the Autumn Academy submitted after Sunday 14th August will be considered but places cannot be guaranteed.
The final date for applications for the Autumn Academy will be Sunday 28th August 2016
All participants should preliminary read the follow Matrices and exercises before the course starts on 12th September 2016
