Cath has worked in education for a number of years, teaching in both further and higher education, and has recently carried out research exploring the effects of educational reform on schools, teachers and students. Learning and teaching are at the heart of her wider research interests, which include gender, sexuality, contemporary feminisms and the development of critical methods in relation to pedagogy, research and writing. She is a member of a feminist educational collective who make use of parody, performance poetry and song, in order to challenge educational inequalities and develop alternative ways of engaging in education policy and practice.
Within the Sociology department at Warwick, she currently teaches on Sociology of Education and Social Construction of Masculinities undergraduate modules. Her role within the Reinvention Centre involves the coordination of undergraduate research projects and the design and delivery of workshops.
