Kagwe is a fourth-year student studying an integrated masters course in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (MMORSE) at Warwick. He was previously the recipient of a Small Grants Fund award from the Reinvention Centre for research on microfinance in Kenya.

Kagwe is currently an undergraduate researcher for the Reinvention Centre, working on a collaborative research project between Warwick and King's College London. His role mainly involves research into the nature of global knowledge conveyed by higher education institutions in their undergraduate curricula.
