How does the department define a research-led environment?

  3. Physical Chemistry - Chemical Physics
  4. Synthetic Chemistry
  5. Computational and Theoretical Chemistry

  • Students in their First, Second and Third years take Laboratory modules which teach them skills for research:
  1. CH115 Chemistry Laboratory and Assesed work
  2. CH222 Chemistry Laboratory
  3. CH3C6 Extended Laboratory Work
  4. CH3C4 Laboratory work
  • These four modules (there are two above to choose from in the third year) lead on to research projects involving Laboratory skills in the 4th year:
  1. CH401 Research Project and Methodology
  2. CH410 Research Project for MChem Industrial Training
