Reinvention Centre Academic Fellow receives National Teaching Fellowship

Dr Helen Walkington, Principal Lecturer in Geography at Oxford Brookes University, has been awarded a National Teaching Fellowship for her undergraduate research initiatives, which are supported by her Academic Fellowship funding from the Reinvention Centre.

Small Grants Fund funding recipients receive award for their research from Warwick Medical School

Two students who recently graduated from Warwick Medical School, Tim Williamson and Sarah Spencer,  have received the School's annual Pridgeon Gold Medal for Research.  This was awarded partly for their work on 'Serious Gaming', a research project supported by a Small Grants Fund award from the Reinvention Centre, and partly for presenting the findings of this research at the 2008 Learning Through Enquiry Alliance (LTEA) Conference in Sheffield and for being members of the Centre's Management Committee at Warwick.  They also conducted an international systematic review of medical education.

Paid undergraduate researcher vacancies

We are seeking up to 4 undergraduate students who would like the opportunity to work over the summer as part of a research team carrying out documentary analysis for the early stages of a new project that the Centre is involved with.  The deadline for applications is Friday 26 June 2009.

Reinvention journal Editor wins Warwick Advantage Gold Award

The Warwick Advantage programme is a new initiative aiming to encourage extracurricular achievements, which can be recognised through the presentation of Warwick Advantage and Warwick Advantage Gold Awards.

David Metcalfe, the Editor of Reinvention: a Journal of Undergraduate Research was recently awarded a Warwick Advantage Gold Award, in part for his work on the journal.  The Warwick Advantage website states that these awards are "to enable those students who have put considerable time, passion and dedication into a particular activity over a sustained period of time to be publicly acknowledged for their achievements."
