WAMIC Early Career Researchers at the Big Bang Fair
The Early Career Researchers (ECR) Committee from the Warwick Antimicrobial Interdisciplinary Centre (WAMIC) had a fantastic time showcasing science at the Big Bang Fair in Birmingham (17th-19th June)!
We brought hands-on microbiology to the public with interactive demos highlighting bacterial infections and the urgent global issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
🦠Visitors explored bacterial plating and learned about viability assays with mock samples.
🔬 Our microscope station let visitors view fungal structures up close.
🧩 We also introduced protein modelling, where participants built the active site of an enzyme.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by and to the passionate ECR team from WAMIC University of Warwick who made this possible!
