Our ambition

Our ambition

We all know the world is facing unprecedented challenges – technological, economic and social disruption; public health, energy and national security threats; climate change and environmental crisis.

The next decades will determine the way ahead for humanity. Now is the time to step up and face these challenges together.

Much will depend on how many ideas we’re able to generate, what kind of technologies and solutions are taken on and how they’re brought to life. And that comes down to how we work together, what we choose to value and who gets to play a part.

Join Generation Do

At Warwick, we believe we all have it in us to make a better world. That’s why we’re on a mission to bring together, inspire and nurture the next generation of problem solvers, inventors and innovators who’ll do what has to be done to build a brighter future. We call this pivotal group of people Generation Do and we need you to join us.

We can’t take on the future alone; it takes a community. That means our local communities from the West Midlands as well as our global one. It means our academics, students and staff, local schools and businesses too. And it means our partners in industry and in government.

We’re building a creative community and ideas marketplace at the heart of campus that will bring different perspectives together to unlock more opportunities in STEM than ever before and we need your support. Join us and help fill this community with the culture, facilities and tools it needs to break new ground. Join us and help bring together the most diverse and representative group of future leaders ever.

Join us by finding out more. Join us by working together. Join us by contributing to support our mission. Join us by rolling up your sleeves, having an idea or spreading the word. Join generation do and help us make a better world.

Pointing the way ahead with new facilities, more research and education and deeper public engagement

Facilities

We’re investing in our buildings and infrastructure so we can continue to grow and meet the rising demands for flexible, world-class research and teaching facilities. Creating a central Science Precinct at the heart of campus will help us to supercharge our research and teaching interdisciplinarity and ability to collaborate across science, technology, engineering, medicine, maths and beyond.

Engagement

Our community is central to everything we do. We’re building our Science Precinct to be an open space for the public, putting our research on display and creating opportunities for everyone to get involved. This includes a dedicated public engagement hub: a test bed for new ideas which will support local schools, families and communities, and excite and inspire the next generation with opportunities to gain first-hand experience of laboratory science.

Research

Our fundamental research will grow as we work to translate discoveries into tangible products and practice to benefit society. Our improved facilities will create more opportunities for collaboration and to work with industry partners. This enhanced inter- and cross-disciplinary environment will help us continue to grow the real-world impact of our fundamental research.

Education

Learning will flow from our research, with new courses designed to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time and provide students with the skills employers tell us they need. A new dedicated education hub for STEM subjects will provide more opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and more innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Help us build a better future

We have an exciting programme of work ahead to help us bring together, inspire and nurture the next generation of problem solvers, inventors and innovators in STEM. Watch this space for news and updates about all the ways you can get involved.
