Tom Miller wins the Aug/Sept Group Imaging Competition
The August/September group imaging competition was again a great success. Well done to Tom Miller for winning the trophy (actually it was bottle of wine) for his rather quirky entry titled 'It's a dog', which now hangs on the wall in Pat's office. Runner up was Laura Hutton for her lead on boron doped diamond electrode named 'Heavy Metal'.
Anatolii Cuharuc wins group imaging competition
Congratulations to Anatolii Cuharuc, who won the groups bimonthly image competition for June/July with his submission 'Microcosm'. The runner-up prize was awarded to Eleni Bitziou, for her submission '2012 - A Diamond Year'. All submissions can be viewed here.
Double success at MEG 2012!
Once again the group performed strongly at the Midland Electrochemistry Group (MEG) meeting held at University of Birmingham in June. James won an award for the best talk ‘Electrochemical and Spectroscopic properties of boron doped diamond’. Barak and Hui also walked away with 1st prize in the poster competition for their work on ‘Visualising single grain activity on polycrystalline Pt’.

Amy Perry wins departmental poster award
Congratulations to Amy for winning best poster prize at the departmental postgraduate symposium for her 3D poster on “Quantitative Plane-Resolved Crystal Growth and Dissolution Kinetics by In Situ Microscopy and Diffusion Models: the Case of Salicylic Acid”
