Matthew Harris
Hi, my name is Matthew Harris, and I'm a doctoral research student in the Fox group.
Profile
I first came to the University of Warwick in 2003, completing my MChem in Chemistry with an intercalated year in 2008. In 2005 my industrial placement was with Xennia where, as an inkjet chemist, I developed a range of inks for the inkjet industry (Polymer/Organic Chemistry). In my final year I completed my research project under the supervision of Dr. Fox in the area of Physical Organic chemistry entitled “Binding pocket energies in Catalytic Asymmetric Dihydroxylation Reactions; The Use of a Competing Ligand System”. In September 2009 I returned to the Chemistry department to begin my doctoral study in Medicinal Organic Chemistry concentrating on developing new GPCR ligands in collaboration with Funxional Therapeutics under the GAEL project.
