Energy Storage Grand Challenge Projects Dissemination EventThu 25 January 2018 09:30 – 19:00 GMT IET London: Savoy Place; 2 Savoy Place; London; WC2R 0BL The two major Grand Challenge Energy Storage research projects: Energy Storage for Low Carbon Grids and Integrated, Market-fit and Affordable Grid-scale Energy Storage (IMAGES) will present the outcomes of their fundamental, multi-disciplinary research, carried out by 10 Universities, which will inform future development of storage technologies and energy system integration challenges. This Dissemination event will cover: Key outcomes of the two projects, including identification of the system benefits that storage technologies can provide in facilitating a cost-effective transition to a low carbon UK grid. We are very grateful to our Advisory Board members, who have provided many invaluable insights for the success of our projects. |

Hybrid and Integrated Energy StorageMonday 18th December 2017 The purpose of event is to bring people together to explore combinations/integrations of energy storage with generation and consumption. Energy Storage (ES) is seen as one of the key sources to provide flexibility in the electricity system and this area became a hot topic recently. ES is also considered as the main solution for secure power system operation with integrated intermittent ‘green power sources’, like wind and solar. We are hoping for serious discussions aiming to affect UK government policy, kickstart demonstration projects and and galvanise technology developers. Visit the event's website to view the Agenda and the flyer. The event is free to attend but attendance is by ticket only. Please contact Dr. Jacek Wojcik as soon as possible to apply for tickets, as places are limited. |
