The two major Grand Challenge Energy Storage research projects: Energy Storage for Low Carbon Grids and Integrated, Market-fit and Affordable Grid-scale Energy Storage (IMAGES) will present the outcomes of their fundamental, multi-disciplinary research, carried out by 10 Universities, which will inform future development of storage technologies and energy system integration challenges.

This Dissemination event will cover:

Key outcomes of the two projects, including identification of the system benefits that storage technologies can provide in facilitating a cost-effective transition to a low carbon UK grid.
Presentation of the White Papers published by each project.
Advances in storage technologies, including manufacturing and control.
System value, market integration and policy.
Expert Panel discussion about the implications of this research and suggestions for future work.
A poster and networking session.
Drinks and a buffet dinner.
View the agenda here.

We are very grateful to our Advisory Board members, who have provided many invaluable insights for the success of our projects.

Hybrid and Integrated Energy Storage

Monday 18th December 2017
17th floor (WBS), The Shard, 32 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9SG

The purpose of event is to bring people together to explore combinations/integrations of energy storage with generation and consumption. Energy Storage (ES) is seen as one of the key sources to provide flexibility in the electricity system and this area became a hot topic recently. ES is also considered as the main solution for secure power system operation with integrated intermittent ‘green power sources’, like wind and solar. We are hoping for serious discussions aiming to affect UK government policy, kickstart demonstration projects and and galvanise technology developers.

Visit the event's website to view the Agenda and the flyer.

The event is free to attend but attendance is by ticket only. Please contact Dr. Jacek Wojcik as soon as possible to apply for tickets, as places are limited.
