Most of the work of Warwick Evidence is for the UK NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme. However several members of the team contributed to a recent project commissioned by the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research Programme, on “do not attempt resuscitation” orders. The report concluded that there is evidence of variation and suboptimal practice in relation to DNACPR decisions across health-care settings. There were deficiencies in considering, discussing and implementing the decisions not to attempt resuscitation, as well as unintended consequences of DNACPR decisions being made on other aspects of patient care.
