Previous Team Members
Judith Wellens
Judith, a medical doctor, undertook a year-long clinical fellowship in the group as part of the ICARUS consortium Hemsley-funded project. She published her study along with Matt in Gut as well as contributed to our SARS-CoV-2 original antigenic sin study published in JCI Insight. Judith is finishing her PhD but continues to work with the group on Inflammatory bowel disease-related projects.
Matt Edmans
Matt undertook a year-long postdoc in the research team as part of the ICARUS consortium Hemsley-funded project. Alongside Judith he published a first-author study in Gut as well as contributed to our SARS-CoV-2 original antigenic sin study published in JCI Insight, and our influenza vaccine review in Vaccines. He is currently working as a senior postdoc in Oxford.
Anna McNaughton
Anna joined us for a year as a research fellow during the pandemic. She published a first-author study in JCI Insight on the impact of prior immunity to seasonal coronaviruses of COVID-19 disease severity as well as contributed to two SARS-CoV-2 serosurvey publications in Eurosurveillance. Anna now works as a senior postdoctoral scientist at the Pandemic Sciences Institute in Oxford.
Alex Fyfe
Alex Fyfe worked as a Research Assistant and was a central part of the team. He contributed to numerous studies involving SARS-CoV-2 and influenza resulting in several papers. He currently works at the exciting start-up, Resolution Therapeutics, based in Edinburgh.
