*Struggling to quantify the amount of walking that a participant is doing?* If a participant tells you that they walk so many miles a day or are doing a certain activity that involves walking, can you ask* how long* does that take? */ Ultimately, we are wanting the participants to walk for at least 30 minutes twice a week/*, so if they can't give an exact time, just check that they are doing at least this much walking and try to work it out from there. And it doesn’t matter whether it is walking at their own pace or a brisk walk - it all adds up and should all be included. If we need to increase someone's walking, we advise it is done at their own pace with their usual walking aid (if applicable), so we don’t expect those who are doing less walking to suddenly take up long distances etc.
