My Teaching
I have undertaken the following teaching qualifications:
- City and Guilds 730 Further and Adult Education Teachers Certificate (1995)
- A1 NVQ Assessor Award (2002)
I have worked as a mentor and NVQ assessor to student nurses, Health Care Assistants and Support Workers since 1999.
I have also taken an active training role within my previous and current jobs providing clinical training for a range of staff (nurses, HCAs, pharmacy staff and lay people) in:
- Stroke
- Coronary Heart Disease
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Hypertension
- NHS Health Check and CVD risk assessment
- Training in the use of bespoke NHS Health Check clinical software
- Training in the use of point of care finger prick blood tests
- Training around quality assurance issues
I have also offered on the job mentoring for staff providing health checks
