Chicago Photos
This page contains a selection of the photos that I took whilst in Chicago for SfN 2009.
SfN Neuroscience 2009 - McCormick Place
These are just two of the loops of water in the feature at the front lobby of the McCormick Centre. In addition to streaming the water in perfectly maintained parabolae, the pumps also enabled the various sized loops to be 'fired' in various time-dependent patterns. See the video for a better impression.
The water feature located at the back of the South Hall of the McCormick Centre. As with the front lobby water feature, this is entirely dynamic, shooting jets up to 50 feet into the air, with striped patterns being generated over time. Again, a recording of the feature gives a better idea of how impressive it is.
This is a view from an elevated cafe region of just some of the posters (rows A-H) in one of the nine poster sessions at Neuroscience 2009. Some of the exhibitors' stands can be seen in the distance on the left hand side.
This is the view in the opposite direction from the same elevated cafe. This shows some of the posters in rows U-HH during the Tuesday afternoon session.
The Frenguelli Lab at the end of the final poster session, with lab mascot Rigger sitting at the front.

The swing ride in full flow, with Abi and Steffi on it! (They are on there, directly in front of one another, though I really can't tell which ones are them!)
This is another view of the coast at Lake Michigan, this time looking South at sunset from the pier level.

The following pictures are of a lower quality, as they were taken with my iPhone once my camera's battery had died.
